Several government programs can help reduce the total cost of your project.
Verify your eligibility and take advantage of the programs that apply to your situation.

Hydro Quebec offers financial assistance to encourage energy efficiency in the home.

  • Program overview:
  • Installation or replacement of an eligible heat pump (see list of eligible heat pumps), for both existing homes/condos and new construction.
    Available for financial assistance:
  • Must ensure eligibility before the project is started
  • The amount of financial assistance varies primarily according to the winter heating capacity of the installed system
    $50 of financial assistance per 1,000 BTUs of heating output at –8°C is offered in this program therefore the higher the capacity of the heat pump, the greater the financial assistance

Rénoclimat guides you in your residential renovation projects to improve the energy performance of your home.

You may be eligible for financial assistance from the Rénoclimat program if you install or replace mechanical systems.

  • Program overview :
  • Installation or replacement of an eligible heat pump (see list of eligible heat pumps – the system must be recognized by the NEEP organization), for both existing homes and new construction.
  • Replacement of an existing oil or propane central heating system with a system that is powered by an eligible renewable energy source, such as electricity.
  • Available financial assistance:
  • The amount of financial assistance varies primarily according to the winter heating capacity of the installed system.
  • The higher the capacity of the heat pump, the greater the financial assistance.
  • Amount is $50 for every 1,000 BTUs of heating capacity at -8 °C.
  • For example :
  • an eligible heat pump with a heating capacity of 10,000 BTU/hr at -8°C is eligible for financial assistance of $500;
  • an eligible heat pump with a heating capacity at 20,000 BTU/hr at -8 °C is eligible for financial assistance of $1,000.

Important: Register for the program BEFORE you begin your renovation project to receive a visit from an advisor.
